Written and directed by Subhash Kapoor, the movie ‘Madam Chief Minister’ is different than most contemporary films. With no unnecessary scenes, parallel stories or meaningless songs; the movie gives a fast-track ride with no time pass.
The movie tells story of a sensitive girl from backward society who accidently enters politics and goes on rising with talent, had work, skills and passion for public welfare. She does well in an atmosphere with gender and caste discrimination.
The girl who was about to be killed with poison when born creates history. Tara (Richa Chadha) has made it a memorable experience. Saurabh Shukla (Surajbhan), Manav Kaul (Khan Sahab) have leading important roles who are shown to be most close to Tara.
The story gets interesting when she becomes Chief Minister and many unexpected turns and events make us involved more. The old politicians, the influential people cannot digest her success and popularity but she goes on facing all challenges intelligently. The film presents some old days’ time and tells that politics is always the same in all times. How she faces cunning plans against her, on personal & political fronts, with her counterattacks is worth watching.
